Ex-Atlanta Falcons star says son didn?t get ?fair chance? under Lane Kiffin at USC, supports transfer
12:01 am January 28, 2011, by Michael Carvell
Former Atlanta Falcons great Bobby Butler didn?t think his son got a fair chance to play under Lane Kiffin. He strongly supports his son?s decision to transfer from USC.
Brice Butler, who starred at Norcross High, has a promising freshman season at USC but saw his role reduced after the arrival of Kiffin. Butler played in 12 games as a backup wide receiver last season, catching 9 passes for 112 yards and one touchdown.
?He had a new coach with new ideas, and it?s time for Brice to go ? it?s the right move,? said Bobby Butler, an NFL DB for 12 seasons (all with the Falcons).
?College football is such a big business and I told Brice a long time ago that you have to treat it as a big business. Don?t get so loyal that you trust everything they say, because again, this is a business.
?Just like Pete Carroll left last year, we?re leaving this year.?
The NCAA will cite the University of Tennessee's football program with a failure to monitor violation stemming from the short tenure of head coach Lane Kiffin, multiple sources close to the investigation both inside and outside the university told FanHouse.
The violation is related to improper recruiting contacts by Vol coaches and by Vol hostesses in the since disbanded Orange Pride program. What's more, in a stunning development that reaches across the country and implicates another of the nation's most-storied programs, the NCAA will also cite current USC head coach Lane Kiffin with a failure to monitor charge as well as additional citations against Kiffin's brother-in-law, David Reaves, formerly an assistant quarterbacks coach at Tennessee.

it truly does amaze me that one would want to play for Kiffin.
