Hall toils in golf's minors
Q & A: Kevin Hall
BY JOHN ERARDI

Kevin Hall is no different than other local products Steve Flesch, Frank Lickliter and Brett Wetterich, who toiled for years on the minor-league pro golf circuits before finally establishing themselves on the PGA Tour.
Hall, a Former Enquirer Prep Golfer of the Year at Winton Woods and St. Rita School for the Deaf, won Big Ten medalist honors in 2004 while at Ohio State. Now he is patiently trying to earn PGA Tour privileges.
Today, Hall takes the first step toward, hopefully, earning a berth in the U.S. Open at a local qualifier at Maketewah Country Club. He tees off at 2:20 p.m. on No. 10.

Hall did a question-and-answer session via e-mail from Greenville, S.C., where he was playing in a Nationwide Tour event.

I've played with Kevin a few times. He is a great guy. Hopefully he finds his game soon and starts making some cuts. I've never seen anyone who can make 20-30 foot putts as routinely as he does. It's unreal.

The nationwide tour is having an event at the Scarlet this weekend. Kevin is playing in it. So are two other buckeyes, Scott Anderson and Chris Smith. I am looking forward to seeing how the new Scarlet holds up against these guys. My guess is the scores won't be too low.

Kevin missed the cut, but Scott made it. He was in great shape after yesterday, but is having some trouble today. The golf course is definitely winning. The first round scoring average was the highest on tour this year.
