Kent State at Ohio State (-30.5)

Anyone else feeling an ultra conservative game coming up? I could be wrong, but unless we execute flawlessly and get some turnovers, I don't think we'll be putting up that many points.

We will dominate this game, no doubt, just not on the scoreboard.

My prediction is 27-3 or something close. I won't be putting any vBucks on this game.

I don't fear ultra conservative as much as the plain old fact that its hard to cover 31 points on anyone.

I'm steering clear of this one.

agreed, a 31 point favorite us a tough one, that's pretty much saying that the Bucks will run it up on them, which I don't think will happen.

At first, I was hesitant to even think about betting on this game, with Kent State beating Iowa State--on the road--in their season opener. Since then, though, they've been ape-fucked by Kentucky and beaten by the same Akron team that couldn't have scored on us even if our players sat down on the field.

I haven't dropped any vCash on this...yet.

KSU's coach said they aren't going to be throwing everything they got at us in order to preserve the health of their team so they can be competitive in the MAC. He continued on to say that they will be playing their second stringers for most of the game.

Considering they lead their conference in turnovers and penalties, and their only offense is on the ground game - which our defense is pretty good at stopping... 31-0 seems very, very reasonable unless the entire team comes to my tailgate Saturday morning and clears out all our booze before the game starts.

I hadn't heard the 2nd stringers thing untill today.

Still, if I am going to get my money in, that tasty little Illinois -4 vs Iowa seems a better spot.

I'm wondering if it's a bluff. This has all the makings of a letdown game. We're coming off a big road win, we have some players nicked up, and exams are this week. The opposing coach telling everyone he's basically conceding the game just adds to it.

I don't think it is. I think its a very pragmatic way to look at a game like this if you are the homecoming fodder team. We had this discussion about YSU all summer. If I'm a small school coach, surviving the game in tact getting our money and getting back to conference play, is a legit school of thought imo.

Even if it were some grandiose disguise intended to Pearl Harbor us it wouldn't work. Too much talent and then you really look like an ass when its over.

It depends on what classes you are in. I'd imagine most players aren't taking any classes that have department wide exams this week, most classes do their own thing as far as when exams are scheduled.
