LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Apparently, university correspondence is serious business.
The University of Kansas has deemed its Jayhawk logo "too fun and informal" to be used on its official letterheads, promotional banners or employee business cards.
Instead, a simple KU logo will be used on all official correspondence or promotions, said Paul Carttar, executive vice chancellor for external affairs.
"The letters KU represent our nickname," Carttar said Wednesday. "And the KU gets right to the heart of the matter."
The Jayhawk will still be used by the university's athletic department and the alumni association on stationery
