I talked to a couple scalpers and they said tickets around the stadium are/will be going for anywhere between $350-$600 depending on the tickets...

Scalpers always have a huge mark-up. You can usually find a ticket for much cheaper by buying from a non-scalper. For example, before the Indiana game this year, a scalper wanted $50 a ticket. I bought one two minutes later for $20. If scalpers are charging $350-$600, I'd say non-scalpers will be charging $200-$450.

Good point, but it is a matter of finding the people that are just wanting to get rid of the tickets, b/c they came across an extra one or two somehow...

Also for a game like this you are going to see people that realize that the price is high so they are not going to take the lower amount of money...

That's true. For the Indiana game, I saw two women probably in their 30s or so walking around with a pair of tickets (non-student, non-faculty). Before I could talk to them (I was looking for a pair for my parents), some scalper came up and bought them for $80 for a pair, which was much, much less than what they were going for elsewhere. I guess it's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time sometimes.

Yeah I was trying to get tickets to the 03 Iowa game and I had just asked a scalper how much he was selling for and he said 350, and I said I will pass and then just after that a guy walked up to me and said I am just looking to get face value out of these and sold them to me for 50/piece. I was planning on spending in the range of 125/ticket and got lucky, by being in the right place at the right time...
