But seriously... Link
1- THE RETIRING COACHES.
Sacramento State’s John Smith and North Florida’s Dusty Rhodes Both of these living legends have announced that this will be their final year of coaching. Smith began his tenure in November of 1978, bringing the Hornets to a pair of Division II College World Series, before ushering them into the Division I era. Rhodes began his Hall of Fame career in the dugout in 1988. He is the only coach that UNF has ever known and has led them to 16 post-season appearances. Like Smith, Rhodes has brought his program from small beginnings into the Division I era.
Interestingly, both have the now-popular coaches-in-waiting ready to take over. Sac State will fall into the capable hands of Reggie Christianson, who worked wonders in his four seasons at South Dakota State, where almost no one wins. UNF will fall into the tried-and-true hands of former LSU head honcho Smoke Laval - who spent some time in Omaha as the Tigers’ head coach.
