Knicks' Thomas avoids questions about interest in Hoosiers job

March 30, 2008
CBSSports.com wire reports

ATLANTA -- Embattled New York Knicks coach Isiah Thomas sidestepped whether he's interested in talking with Indiana University about its head coaching position.

Sounds like the media in NY are trying to give this story legs and try to get his ass out of town, but I would LOVE it if somehow IU went after Thomas. He is the basketball grim reaper.

Either way Indiana is a sleeping giant, lots of talent in Indiana high school ball and lots of support...

This is one of the top 10 jobs in basketball...They need to be smart and higher the right person...Need to make sure they are a very clean person as well due to the fact that they will probably be on probation...

It would also be nice to see IU be able to keep Ebanks and Holloway just to add to the talent level in the big ten...

Peegs.com & Inside Indiana - Where does IU go from here?

So the Washington State coach doesn't want the Indiana job. Not a ringing endorsement of the argument that Indiana is still an elite basketball program. There is probably a good chance this 10-person committee's work is going to be a bit harder than they imagined when they took on the responsibility.
