High School Ironton HC Bob Lutz

Bob Lutz, the second winningest coach in Ohio history has retired. He leaves behind an Ironton program which he won 2 state titles and made 6 other state final appearances at. Following in the HOF coaches footsteps will be Ironton alum Merrill Triplett Jr. Ironton is the home high school of current tOSU Buckeyes Tyler "Tank" Whaley and Marcus Williams.

IRONTON -- It isn't often that there is something that can steal the headlines surrounding the annual Ironton-Portsmouth rivalry.

Then again, it isn't often that a coach gets the opportunity to tie a state record for most wins ever.

Ironton coach Bob Lutz has that opportunity on Friday when Portsmouth comes rolling into Tanks Memorial Stadium.

A win would give Lutz 360 career wins, tying him with Hamilton Badin's Terry Malone as Ohio's all-time winningest coach.
