I'm sure this has been asked too many times.

I work with a guy who is married to an OSU student. They bought student tickets through her and she is not going. He asked me to go with him. If we take her i.d. along with his, but I do not have one, will I be able to get in with her i.d. and being with her husband? Probably doesn't make any sense, but maybe someone who can make out what I am trying to say can answer for me.

Thanks in advance

According to the OSU rules, she needs to "upgrade" her ticket so that you or any one else can use it without the student ID. I spoke to a season ticket holder last night, and he said it would cost only $3 for the first upgrade, $5 for the second one, and higher for the third, fourth...I believe she has till the Friday before the game to 'upgrade"' you will need to check with the OSU ticket office. Good luck...I hope you can go!

Student pre-conference games can't be upgraded I don't think.

BN27 is right though. If there is a crush at the gates they often don't even look and see if the name matches on the ID. Heck, they some times don't even LOOK at the ID. They just wanna make sure you HAVE an ID. Can't guarantee if this happens all the time, but some of my friends who have borrowed student season tickets for a game say that they get in because they have A student ID. Doesn't matter whose, but apparently holding up a BuckID does the trick.

Now, if you can get away with holding up your friend's wife's ID, well that's a whole different issue...

I am pretty sure that the spouse does NOT need an ID, because it's a spouse ticket, and therefore likely would not have an ID. Plenty of OSU students are married, and bought a spouse season ticket, even though their spouse isn't also an OSU student. I think you'll be fine without any ID.

I've always heard they dont give a shit as long as the ID matches the ticket.

This is flat out wrong, as I've explained before. First of all, the non-conference games do not even have the students' names on them. Therefore, how could an ID even match the ticket? Second of all, even for the Big Ten season, you just have to have a valid student ID, but it need not match the name on the ticket. Either you or your buddy must be a student and have a valid student ID, or you're out of luck.

You have to have a valid student ID, but it has to be your ID - not someone else's.

For faculty/staff their policy clearly states that one ID can admit two people provided they arrive at the gate together. Don't know if that is the case for students.

The Spouse ticket will not need to have an ID or someone with an ID accompanying it...

The student ticket will need an ID to go with it...if you cannot find a man to let you borrow his, you are doing a shitty job looking. You just need to find one that halfway looks like you and explain the picture is from Freshman year or whatever if they give you shit, which they won't do

this is right from the ticket office...

Students that feel comfortable giving their Buck ID to someone else may give their ID and their student ticket to that person
If the student does not feel comfortable giving her ID, she may upgrade the ticket to the public price the Monday-Friday prior to the game that she wants to upgrade. Please keep in mind that non-conference games are not-upgradeable. Only the student whose name is on the ticket may facilitate the upgrade and it will cost $30 per game/per ticket plus a service fee<o =""></o>

Thank you<o =""></o>

The OSU Ticket Office<o =""></o>

Yea, it needs to be upgraded. The student ticket says "STUDENT" on it, and sure enough the spouse ticket says "SPOUSE". Good luck getting in when there are two guys! :wink2:

I'm sure it will improve your chances of convincing the gate attendant that you are actually a couple if you walk up holding hands and french kiss each other just before giving him your tickets, etc.
