I give up. This board is too hard to understand.
Why are people so fucking stupid???? like this guy that died today in Deerfield Beach... they had 7 people in this house get sick and he died because they had their GAS POWERED GENERATOR IN THEIR LIVING ROOM!!!!! This happens after every hurricane and it's unfair to blame this one on Wilma :p :smash: Last year a guy died during Hurricane Charlie because he went out in 140MPH winds to have a smoke and he was hit by a tree. Natural selection at its finest.

Hurricane Wilma death rises to 14

(AP) - Florida's official death toll now stands at 14, up from ten.

The deaths include five due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Some people with portable generators are putting them inside homes or garages, resulting in carbon monoxide filling houses.

In warning people not to put the generators inside, Governor Jeb Bush said earlier this week that people wouldn't think of putting a vehicle with its motor running inside their house and that a generator in the house is just as deadly.

One man died today in Deerfield Beach after he was apparently overcome by carbon monoxide fumes from a generator. It isn't known yet if the generator was being used because of loss of power from the hurricane and if the death is included in the 14.

The storm also killed at least 12 people in Haiti, four in Mexico and one in Jamaica.

That stuff happens every year up here with portable heaters. My favorite story along those lines was the guy whose car's gas line was frozen so he decided to warm up some gas in a pan on his gas stove. He didn't make it :biggrin:

I have no idea if that story is true, but you have to imagine someone has tried it.

What a dumbass. Everyone knows that you have to slow cook gasoline, but that's only for making explosives, not for thawing gas lines.:shake:

he should have just used his microwave. dethaw on high and your good to go. :wink:

not so sure i buy this story... i could see someone trying to thaw a fuel line with a cig lighter or something though. next episode of mythbusters mayhap? :biggrin:
