Bleed S & G

Taking Crazy Pills
Hey guys - working on a website - and I want to do a link that opens up a "pop up" but I want it to work like how the thumbnails work here on this website. I've seen it on other sites as well, where you click on a thumbnail and a gray screen with a loading logo pops up and loads the image.

Anyone point me in the right direction - ie. what is it called? That way I can google it and figure it out.

Doesnt matter, I'm not going to take the chace...I disabled it. Easy turn off if you have Java 7 Update 10

Go to Control Panel
Click on Java
Click on Security tab
De-Select enable Java content in browser

It's potentially a huge issue. A lot of stuff uses Java out there and you don't even realize it. It's not like vulnerabilities in Java are a new thing though - and I doubt even the government is disabling it in most of their computers (we use Java extensively in our toolsets, if they disable it, I might as well just surf the web all day at work).

The best thing you can do is avoid clicking on ads, even on websites you trust, and don't let it load any applets automatically - you can set it to ask you before they run.

DHS warns everyone to disable it, and here's why. US-CERT found some very bad vulnerabilities in Java 7. I've worked with US-CERT on several occasions, if they say it's a problem, it's a HUGE problem.
