The battle for the Illibuck is today at noon ET on ABC (channel 1006 Time Warner Columbus/Delaware).
According to Wikipedia, Ohio State vs. Illinois is a rivalry game. While that claim may be debatable these days, the game is still an important one for the Buckeyes, who look to increase their winning streak and keep their spot in the College Football Playoff. With the regular season ending soon for Ohio State with games against BOTH teams up north, and with a QB situation that has not been as stable as we would have hoped, it's important that the Buckeyes not get caught unfocused or looking ahead to next week today. Let's take a look at what all is happening in college football today:
What time and where is the game?
The Buckeyes are on the road today. The game will be in Champaign, IL, and it'll start at noon ET.
How can I watch?
The game today will be available for your viewing pleasure on ABC and WatchESPN. One advantage of being a top team is that even your noon games against not-so-great conference opponents get national coverage, I guess. Our ABC crew for the game will be Sean McDonough, Chris Spielman, and Todd McShay. As always, you can tune in to 97.1 FM The Fan or your local Ohio State radio network affiliate, too.
So who will we see under center today?
According to the depth chart, it'll be J.T. Barrett. Having served his one-game suspension, Urban Meyer is putting the ball back in his hands.
How are the Illini doing this season?
Eh, they're doing okay. Not great, but okay. Illinois is 5-4 this season, though just 2-3 in the conference, beating Nebraska and Purdue. They've managed to get beat by Kent State, Middle Tennessee State, and Western Illinois. In terms of the "rivalry" and the Illibuck Trophy, a large, wooden turtle, the Illini haven't won since 2007.
Where will GameDay be set up today?
In what should come as a shocker to no one, the ESPN crew will be hanging out in Waco, TX, where No. 4 Baylor will host No. 12 Oklahoma. This late-season Big 12 matchup is especially important when you remember that, despite all the commotion it caused last year, the Big 12 still does not have a championship game. You can watch that game at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and WatchESPN.
What about the rest of the Big Ten? Is Iowa still undefeated?
Yes, they are, and they're only two spots behind us in the rankings.
In week 11, we still find fine ranked Big Ten teams in the CFP rankings: No. 3 Ohio State, No. 5 Iowa, No. 13 Michigan State, No. 14 Michigan, and No. 18 Northwestern.
At noon, in addition to the Buckeyes, you can watch Maryland at No. 13 Michigan State and Purdue at No. 18 Northwestern.
At 3:30, you've got Nebraska at Rutgers and No. 14 Michigan at Indiana.
Finally, at 8, it's Minnesota at No. 5 Iowa.
As always, the chart below has your full dose of Saturday College Football. Enjoy liberally.
