High School pitcher throws 12 no hitters

softball is crazy to me in the respect that one pitcher can change the entire team. she probably pitches every game. we had a girl at my HS that pitched something like 4 out every 5 games and only lost once her junior and senior year combined. all you need to be a great team is one lock down, go to pitcher, and you've got a great chance. .04 ERA is nasty BTW!

A good catcher in Softball is just as critical as a go to pitcher. But you are right. Monica Abbott of Tennessee is a prime example, as is Cat Osterman (formerly of Texas)

She's almost as good a hitter as my daughter who's hitting a hefty .833 right now.

She's also struck out 5 in her last 3 innings and not allowed a run.

Of course, she's only in a 9 -10 year old league... but I'm still going all proud papa moment

Little Scooter is batting .650 right now. She pitched one inning and it wasn't pretty. She's a second baseman, not a pitcher. Not bad for a 4'2" 54lb 9 year old.

But last night, I used four pitchers and they combined for a 5 inning, 10 strike out no hitter. They allowed one base runner on a HBP. She was doubled up at first to end the inning.
