Heating Coils on the Field

before I sit down to watch MNF, i just want to publicly state that i am against heating fields. i love nothing more than watching a foot of snow pile up on the field at mile high. its like dome football, takes away the natural elements that i love about football, the weather and the need to play through all environments, is what seperates football from nearly every other sport.
 
Better field conditions normally contribute to better football being played. That is why I have no problem with warm weather bowl games. I want to see each football team come out and put out their best. That's why New England letting the field freeze when they plyed Indianapolis last year was a dick move. The pro's are the only ones that play in shit conditions on a regular basis, because football is supposed to be a fall sport. Heating coils on the field simply help prevent the conditions from altering who wins and loses.

Still a dick move. Homefield advantage comes with the fact that there were 50 or 60,000 fans there, all rooting for NE. Not taking care of your field, to make it playable, is just stupid. I wonder if they would've thought it were such a great idea if one of their key guys got hurt, due to the field conditions, and it ended up costing them the Super Bowl.

Both teams played on it, it's their field, they can do whatever the hell they want to it. They can submerge it in 2 inches of water if they wanted to.

Only losers blame field conditions for losses.

The whole letting the field get sloppy thing worked really well for the Eagles yesterday. I would like to thank the Seattle D for scoring 3 TD's and shortening Alexander's night to 49 yards and 2 TD's. 3 more points out of him and I would have missed out on the playoffs in one of my fantasy leagues.

whys it a dick move? heat it or not, some places have it others dont. why not play all games in domes to be "fair?"

personally i think heating the field makes the track sloppier, but snow is obviously more slick.

i like nothing more than watching the snow pile up during the game, its something special like i said to football.

Teams used to play on frozen fields all of the time before there were heating coils under fields.

So you're saying if OSU decided to freeze the field to beat scUM you'd be against it?

Fuck that, you take every advantage you can get b/c every game matters.

im agianst heating coils in general.

im against dome football.

im for football in the elements.
