Welcome to your tri-weekly look at all things Ohio State recruiting. Let’s get started!

Trevon Grimes Has Made His Decision:

We learned this morning that Ft. Lauderdale wide receiver Trevon Grimes has let the coaching staff of the school he will be attending know that they have his commitment. Luke Stampini from 247 spoke to Grimes who confirmed that he had let the coaching staff know.

Grimes will make his decision public next Thursday August 24th, and all signs point to him picking the Buckeyes. Grimes is ranked as the nations #15 overall prospect and the #3 wide receiver in the class of 2017.

Another 2019 Offer Out:

Ohio State reached out yesterday and offered Stephen Herron Jr., a weak-side defensive end from the class of 2019. Herron hails from Louisville, Kentucky and plays at Trinity High School where he will be a Sophomore this season. In his freshman season he totaled 75 tackles and 5 sacks with 5 tackles for a loss. Herron currently holds five offers from Ohio State, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville and Tennessee.

Herron currently has 3 crystal ball predictions in, and already 2 to the Buckeyes. He called the offer “mind-blowing,” per Steve Wiltfong at 247 Sports ($).

Tyjon Lindsey on the Move:

It seems like Tyjon Lindsey will be headed back to his old high-school of Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas to play out his senior year. Lindsey was apparnetly going to have to sit out the first five games of the season if he played for Centennial High School, so the decision to go back and play with his old teammates makes sense. He will be reunited with Tate Martell who he lived with before moving back to California, and who might possibly be his quarterback at the next level if Lindsey picks the Buckeyes on Monday like most expect.

Centennial Coach Matt Logan said he expects WR Tyjon Lindsey to end up back at Bishop Gorman.

2018 In-State Prospect Schedules Visits:

L’Christian “Blue” Smith, a 2018 WR out of Dayton, OH has scheduled his fall visits and Ohio State looks to be getting him on campus twice as he will be visiting for the Bowling Green game on Sept. 3rd and The Game on Nov. 26th. Smith holds offers from 11 programs including Alabama, Michigan and Michigan State. The main competitor for his services right now seems to be Michigan State, and he will be seeing them only once by the looks of things. Most experts think he will end up a Buckeye when it is all said and done, and I believe the same, however I can see this recruitment taking a bit longer than expected.
