Have you ever bought a truck for a status symbol?

Where I come from it is hard to make it without a truck. Many people do buy their truck as a status symbol. I, on the other hand, see a truck for what it is, a work vehicle. Too many people buy a 4 wheel drive on want even take it off-road.

What I don't understand is the guy that lives in a sub-division or appartment complex and drives a F-350 superduty king cab and the truck will never see off road usage. If you live in the city and your job deosn't require a large truck or suv why purchase one.

No, I have never bought a truck as a status symbol, nor would I ever want one.

Shit. When you own a truck you are the de facto guy that everybody calls when they need to move something. Fuck that.

For my next car, I want a two-seat roadster, that way I will never be obligated to help anyone move anything, and will never be obligated to drive my car on road trips with more than one person. :biggrin:
