Happy Martin Luther King Day - Watch the Speech

Especially for those of us who are not working today, a few minutes spent watching one of the greatest speeches in history should be required:

You refer of course to the speech about it being about character instead of race, from which the entire black caucus of the US Congress and liberals run 180 degrees away from, correct?

Gotcha. Love that speech. Hate racist affirmative action, racist minority set-asides, racist quotas, etc. I, too, look forward to that dream someday coming to fruition in the racist states of America.

Here's my favorite line from the speech:

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Perhaps it should be required that some watch it twice.

notice how he turns a day of remembrance into a platform about the inconsistencies of blacks and liberals? classy. very classy. but, hey, this is a guy who (on this board) refers to, or makes light of, some as negroes, chinks, and squaws.

Well, if so, today you should just hope that one day your children and his children will hold hands as sisters and brothers. Have a dream today.

Actually, if you could read, you'd have noted that I presented a consistency between the position of black leadership in Congress and liberals.

Don't they have adult literacy courses where you live? You've already demonstrated with the other three items referred to in your post that reading comprehension is not exactly a core competency in your trailer park.

Here's a challenge for you to further disgrace yourself with: how does opposing affirmative action, minority set-asides, and race-based quotas make one opposed to the philosophy presented in MLK's speech? Please respond in coherent English.

you're right. you lumped all black congressmen together. if you don't understand what i mean by "inconsistencies" in reference to your post, then your comment about literacy surely is ironic.

Real shame a thread started as a tribute to a great man is gonna be dragged into the depths of the poli board.:shake:
like i said, leave it to joja to turn a day of remembrance into a platform about the inconsistencies of blacks and liberals.

Upon reading your posts in this thread, and as I consider myself to be somewhat literate, I feel the need to advise you that starting an argument over proper English is not in your best interests.

Also not in your best interests is any further denigration of this thread. I am not in the mood for it, you appear to be an ass (I admit I am not around here enough to know who you are and what your tendencies are), and I will ban you with joy. Have a nice day.

Well played Kinch.

At this time I will enter the 3rd post in this thread which actually praises Dr. King for his work, and his character.
I admire him for the above and his devotion and perseverance.
Well Done Martin, you were a good man.
