Going to my first game - Oct. 11 - Question.

Town Drunk
Hi all, looking for some help about Columbus. Wife and I are going to our first game Oct. 11 v. Purdue...can't wait!

We've never been to Columbus but I'm no fool - I know that it's not the safest city in the world.

1. I was looking at staying at 111 Nationwide Blvd. - Red Roof Inn - what's this location like?

2. It's 3 miles from the stadium - are there any hotels closer?

3. Would any hotel in the geography of #1 be safe to WALK from?

Thanks for the help in advance.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Hudson street. We ended up parking at the crew stadium and taking the bus to the game. We made the mistake of trying to walk back after seeing the enormous line after the game and we ended up getting lost.

As joe56 said enjoy your game!

You stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and you got lost?

Guess that whole Holiday Inn Express thing didn't work out too well ... :tongue2:

Dang that seems like a pretty good trek. Then again now that I think about it, it's not that far, only off 17th street.

Wow, my fiancee and I are going to our first OSU game this week against Minnesota. We reserved a room at that same hotel as well. I could try parking at the Crew Stadium for the game.

Anyone here are planning on tailgating this Saturday?

I bought two tickets in Deck 8 B 17th row off StubHub.com. It will be my first OSU game, along with my fiancee of 3 years (been working on her to turn her into a Buckeye faithful). We will be driving up from South Carolina on Friday.

The problem is that I do not know the area very well or know anyone who lives there. I want to know if anyone here are planning on tailgating this Saturday and would not mind to let us join in and show us around like a tour or so.

Yes, I am deaf (born deaf), but I wear hearing aids so I can talk pretty well. Mariangela (my fiancee) is a normal hearing Italian chick. She get in touch with a cell phone when we get in the area so we can meet up any of you guys.

I cannot wait. I've been waiting for this moment for around 4 years. I'll be glad if anyone here can help us out to show us some fun and great experience.

Shoot me up some PMs if anyone here can hook us up.
