The Buckeyes have added the brother of an NBA star as a developmental piece to their 2025-26 roster.

Guard Myles Herro, brother of NBA All-Star and Miami Heat shooting guard Tyler Herro, committed to Ohio State on Monday.

.
.
Standing 6-foot-3, Herro averaged 21.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists as a senior at Whitnall.

Correction: An earlier version of this story stated that Herro would not be on scholarship for Ohio State. He will, in fact, be on scholarship.

College Interest NCAA Division I scholarship offers from Cal Poly and Southern Illinois.
Bio First-team all-Woodland East performer as a junior ... Averaged 13.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.9 steals for Whiitnall ... Pass-first point guard with size, skill and court vision ... Scored a career-high 30 points in a win over West Allis Hale.
Myles Herro, 6-3, PG, Whitnall (Team Herro EYBL)
Herro, the younger brother of Miami Heat wing Tyler Herro and son of Team Herro coach Chris Herro, is a pass-first point guard with size, court vision and the ability to defend on the perimeter with his instincts and length. Herro is a capable offensive player -- he averaged 13.2 ppg for Whitnall last winter -- but he's definitely looking to his exceptionally talented teammates first. And he did that for Whitnall as well as he averaged an impressive 6.4 apg for the Falcons in 2023-24.

Some are saying he is basically a walk-on, but on scholarship because walk-ons have to be on scholarship now since the roster limit is up to 15 players and all are on scholarship.

Looks like his only other D1 offers were Cal Poly and Western Illinois, so yea not someone who woulda gotten a scholarship in the old roster limit era.
