Future Football Schedules (Updated 8/31/2024)

Well OSU was realizing that might be a big game(OSU-WSU) and they knew ESPN Gameday would probably be there. Then they realized that ESPN Gameday never goes to WSU, WSU comes to ESPN Gameday.

We just didn't want to break tradition.:wink2:

Miliani, are you sure the YSU game is official? I can not find any write up about it. I doubt that it is already a done deal.

Nothing "official" as of yet...the specific details and contract just hasn't been finished. This is from a very reputable poster on this site who is from the Youngstown area with connections to the YSU program.

I'm going to take a crazy guess and say it has something to do with their stadium only seating 40,000 or so.

Absolutely no money it it for OSU to play that game at WSU.

Had the game been played it almost certainly would have been the one game each year that WSU plays at Qwest Field in Seattle. I believe that Qwest seats 67,000-70,000, which is still small by the standard of the Shoe. However the stadium is deluxe all the way; hell it cost us Washington state tax payers somewhere in the order of $600,000,000.00! So it damn well better be good!

The way our fans travel, we would fill that stadium.

So get on the phone, call any well heeled Buckeye boosters that you know and have them lean on the athletic department and have them say "Don't back out of the game, we want a road trip!" Who knows maybe Paul Allen (a WSU alumnus) could sweeten the pot to keep the game on the schedule.

The total gate just wont be enough, especially only getting the visitors share.

OSU has 36 or so sports that depend on football for revenue. Every home game possible has to be played.
