Future Football Schedules (Updated 8/31/2024)

Just got an e-mail from my YSU contact. The 2010 game is set for the October 30th open date.

On a side note, he says that Irizarry is looking like a beast, and that YSU last week also obtained two I-A linemen transfers--one from Minnesota and another from Syracuse.

the mac teams now are stronger than those ysu has beat in the past
Not really. Kent State, Akron, Ohio, and Central Michigan aren't...

and their nat'l champ teams would not touch the buckeyes
Where did I say that? I would bet that the '94 YSU team would give Ohio State as good a game as many of the MAC teams have...

OU in talks with Ohio State for football games

NORMAN, Okla. Oklahoma and Ohio State are talking about scheduling a two-game football series.
O-U athletic director Joe Castiglione confirms the two schools are in negotiations for a series to be played sometime next decade.
Ohio State will wrap up a two-game series with Texas on Saturday when the top-ranked Buckeyes play the second-ranked Longhorns in Austin.
Future O-U schedules already include home-and-home series with Miami, L-S-U, Florida State and Tennessee.

Schedule just the way Tressel likes it
pd_clear_sm.gif

10:43 a.m.

COLUMBUS - Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel has made Ohio State?s scheduling philosophy abundantly clear.

The Buckeyes want three nonconference home games against mid-level schools like Cincinnati and teams from the MAC; and one big-stage national game as part of a two-year home-and-home series.

Tressel said that schedule wasn?t a prerequisite for taking the head job at Ohio State.

?I just wanted to come to Ohio State,? Tressel said. ?I didn?t ask them anything. I said, ?Yeah, I?m coming.? ?

But for the players who arrive in Columbus, games like Saturday?s showdown at Texas are a draw.

?It doesn?t hurt to know that you?re the game, Saturday night, ABC, high definition, everyone is watching,? junior offensive tackle Kirk Barton said. ?It?s your stage. It can either make your or break you.

?If you want to be a top-flight program, you shouldn?t be worried about playing other top-flight programs. These are the kind of games you want to play. These are the games if you win, you tell your family, your kids, your employees about it ? how we went down to Austin and beat Texas.

?That?s the stuff you remember. Beating Notre Dame, beating Michigan, those are the ones that are always crystal clear in your memory bank.?

Schedule 2008 and Beyond

With early season match-ups against USC scheduled in 2008/2009 and against Miami FL in 2010/11 it looks like we've got a ton to look forward to, and as we've learned the winner of these games is catapulted to the front-runners for the national title. The series against Texas in my opinion was one of the greatest regular season match-ups between powerhouses. Oh, and we better look out for the battle of Ohio in 2008 when the Bobcats come to town... I can't even imagine how much alcohol will be consumed that weekend.

I would really not want to play Miami. I think by 2010 Shannon will make them a powerhouse. You guys are not backing down and I respect that. We might have a home and home with Auburn or Georgia in 09 and 10 we will get to see that Sec speed that people have been raving about.
