French Open - Women's Final

Safina just went down in straight sets amid a Richie Tennenbaum style meltdown. Just saw the last couple of games, so I'm still fuzzy on what the whole story is, but Safina looked to be on the verge of tears, and kept staring at a guy in the stands (coach, brother, both?)

That was her coach, who was lucky not to be penalized for doing coaching from the stands. I expect to see them get fined for having an obvious back-and-forth during the match.

Marat was in London, supposedly getting ready for the Queens grass court tournament. He can't get all the way from London to Paris to watch little sister in a Slam Final?

Kuznetsova was classy in not celebrating immediately after it ended on a Safina double-fault, and was gracious in her post-match interviews. She did fail to hold when serving for the first set (she then broke Dinara to win it), but other than that was pretty solid throughout the match. She beat the #2 (Serena) and the #1 ranked players, so she clearly earned the title.
