For you ex-pat Buckeyes, how did your co-workers react to your loss?

JoJaBuckeye

First we take Michigan--then the whole world!
I got a lot of sympathy, but reading b/t the lines, I sensed they were glad to be offering that instead of me being proud of a victory. Oh, ok...instead of me gloating my ass off. There...I said it.

(Initially my SEC friends and co-workers were against a FL win, but as the game approached this seemed to even out with conference supporters who wanted them to bring home the crystal football.)

[Memo to stylistic nazis...yes, I know the term ex-pat is not used to refer to out-of-staters. But that's my usage and I'm sticking to it.]

surrounded by Gators fans here... I had two of them (guy/girl who are engaged to each other) send me a sympathy card telling me they were sorry for my loss, I actually thought it was funny and it was meant to be mean because we joke around all the time. Gator fans have been OK... it's fans of Cryami that have the asshats.

I got, (and am still receiving) a fair amount of shit. Most of it in pretty good humor however. I work with a bunch of Clem'son and USC fans so how much crap can they hand out?

Not a word from the Clemson fans...

Was getting hammered from the USCarolina crowd until I did some research:

In 6 years under JT, tOSU has appeared in 6 bowls, 4 BCS games with 3 victories, have had numerous major award winners including a Heisman, won a NC and played for another.

In 114 years of football , The Gamecocks have played in 12 bowl games, never made it to the BCS, have one Heisman trophy, and have never played for or won a NC or even a Conference title.

They of course point out the Outback Bowl...and lead that to SEC dominance. I then ask if head to head is all that matters...when they say yes of course, I point out the 2-1 Big 10 vs. SEC this year.

I then tell the Gmecock fans that we will be back...they are still just hoping to get there one day.

I'm getting a fair amount of shit, especially from guys that know I went to the game, but as soon as you acknowledge that tOSU got their ass beat, you'd be surprised on how quickly the situation is diffused. Most of them arent Florida fans anyway, so they can't say shit.

How many of you have had to put up with these "new" Florida fans this week?

I realize that many of you live in the north, but for us Buckeye fans that live in the South, we have seen Florida fans sprout up from nowhere, literally out of the woodwork. Noone wanted to talk about the game before Monday, but now they are "interested" in talking about the Buckeyes with me.

I did not become a Buckeye fan because of success. My initial interest was the good people I met on the boards. Since that time, I have enjoyed being a fan win or lose. I will be wearing my Ohio State sweatshirt to work on Friday.
