Favorite Webcast/Streaming Audio Station?

Okay, I'm happy to announce I finally got broadband internet at home. :) So, I'm going to be setting up a Squeezebox in our kitchen so we can listen to music from our PC and also stream music from the 'net. Anyway, I'm kinda new at streaming broadcasts and was wondering what stations BP listens to. Also, what sites to you browse for new music stations?

I just installed WinAmp here at work and have been checking out Shoutcast.com for streaming stations. I've barely scratched the surface - there seems to be a lot to choose from.

Anyone out there stream music at work or home?

FC, you would love FolkAlley (folkalley.com). It's out of Kent State, and they play great folk and bluegrass. If you have iTunes, this is listed under "Americana" in iTunes radio. (But you can also listen live through their website.)

I also love WXPN out of Philly (wxpn.org) and WFUV out of NYC (wfuv.org). In iTunes, both of these are listed under "Eclectic" in iTunes radio. FUV has a Grateful Dead hour on Fridays 11pm - Midnight EST.

live365.com has some good stations as well.

You might also want to try pandora.com. You can create your own stations based on your preferences. I've been having a lot of fun playing with it!

Launch.com is pretty good too. It does a nice job of playing songs that you like and also songs that it thinks you'll like.

My favorite two are:

(1) folkalley.com -- Adding on to what Sushi said, they also play celtic-rooted and other international music in addition to folk & bluegrass

(2) mostlyclassical.com -- good for relaxing or doing work to.

both sites have good websites with playlists so you can look up the song & artist if you really like what's on.
