Glacier had some good hiking. We were on a trail when a grizzly bear came along behind us, actually following the path worn by hikers. It was a common tourist trail, and folks behind us called out that a bear was on the trail. We got off the trail, and this approximately 500-pound grizzly came sauntering along, just strolling and looking around. I got some good pictures from 50 to 75 feet off the trail, and we warned the people ahead of us, whom we couldn't see. They doubted us, but we heard them squeal when the bear went around the bend. We followed him at a distance for almost a mile, then he headed off the trail down toward a lake.

My wife was freaking out because the kids were with us, but it's a cool memory.

My favorite close NP is obviously Rocky Mountain:

Most intense Nat'l Park experience, hiking the Narrows in Zion NP:

We visited Acadia NP last fall, and that was beautiful. And Cape Cod Nat'l Seashore has always had a special place in my heart. :)

You obviously didn't go to the right places in Yellowstone. :)

It's my favorite by a long shot - been there around 10 times, and have done some decent size (3 days) backcountry trips there.

Runner up is probably Arches.
