Personally, I would start Rudi and Willis this week. Mike should do well against Miami too, but he's got a guy behind him (Bell) that might take some carries and even a TD away from him...Rudi and Willis have no such issues, and the Browns and Texans can't stop the run...at all.

thats exactly what i was thinking, then the 93 yard run by anderson in the final preseason game plays in my head, its a good problem to have but damn, im starting johnson no matter what, even though im a die-hard browns fan, and it would make sense to start mcgahee but anderson could blow up against a very poor miami team.

Miami's front 4 is pretty decent...and their D is a bit better than most people think. You're right, Anderson is on a roll, but huge runs by him are rare...and a fast DB can catch him from behind.

Yeah, but Moulds and Evans can get open better than Lelie and Smith, and the Buffalo TEs are pretty good too. I think Losman will be OK...he'll struggle a bit, but if they blitz him or crowd the box, they can get some big plays, especially Evans. I think Willis will catch some passes too. I think he'll be a top 5-7 back this season.

Add in the fact that the Buffalo D will give them a short field a lot and that they'll be looking to run in the red zone at every opportunity, and I think they'll be fine.

That, and the Texans could put 10 in the box and may still not be able to tackle anybody.

So I take it you don't think much of Chris Perry? Me either. :scum4:

dont you think that teams will load up the box and make an ineffective jp losman throw to beat them?

That would be the smart thing to do. Miami was actually second to last in rushing defense last year but I'd imagine Saban will fix that. I agree with Bucklion though, I'd have to go with McGahee over Anderson. Starting Rudi this week is a no brainer.

Tough call. I'd go Hines Ward. Bennet never was a McNair target, but who knows this season. I wait to see what happens with Bennet.

Ward has always been a #1. We shall see what happens with Bennet. My guess is he is double teamed and shut down most of the year. The only plus you have is Bennet may be a good garbage time guy in this game.

Can't really go wrong either way, but my instinct is Ward.

Go with Ward this week without question...Tennessee's D is terrible.

Actually, that could be seen as a positive for Bennet. The Steelers get out to a big lead and the Titans are forced to throw 40+ times and the Steelers run, run, and run again. WR's are bad to predict this way. You actually want a guy that has a bad D. Ward can put up better numbers at first, but then those garbage points pile up for Bennet. If I thought they were truly equal I would say Bennet, but I'm not sold that McNair will consider him a go to guy and the Steelers may double him all game since the other WR's aren't that great.

Yeah, but remember the Steelers have their 3rd, 4th, 10th, I don't know, whatever the hell Parker was supposed to be on the depth chart, starting this week. The Steelers will have to pass more, because they don't have a back to take a pounding back there (and they can't afford Parker to take a pounding either). So, I still say Ward in a walk this week. If they had Bettis, maybe not, but they don't, so....go with Ward.

Remember too that Rothlisberger has looked terrible so far this year (preseason). After what Bennett did last year, I would probably start him....yeah, most of his catches came from Volek, but he's had a strong preseason, and chances are McNair will get hurt anyways...
