Eastern Michigan Baseball Game

Go Buckeyes!

• The Eastern Michigan Eagles come to Columbus for the season's last mid-week, non-conference game for the Buckeyes. EMU is 20-32 on the season (11-13 MAC). The Buckeyes hope to even their record vs the MAC by defeating EMU.

Eastern Michigan has had a rough year, going 20-32. A bright spot has been shortstop Jim Gulliver, who was voted MAC player of the week last week. Gulliver went 8-14 (.571) in five games with 3 HRs, 9 runs scored, 7 RBIs and 2 stolen bases Link

Buckeyes lose to EMU 9-5. They were down 7-1 by the third inning.

Writeup from the Official Site forthcoming.

My take: The Buckeyes lose AGAIN to a 3rd rate MAC school. Thank God the game vs Bowling Green was cancelled. That puts their season record versus MAC schools at 1-3. The simply don't have the pitching depth at this time to consistently win during the week, or they just don't care enough. Either way, Todd must address this. There is NO reason to constantly be losing to 2nd tier teams. Unless the Buckeyes are one themselves.

can we PLEASE win a midweek game...

GO BUCKS!
Apparently not. And while I respect the MAC and don't wish to put them down, it isn't as if the Buckeyes are playing the best. Kent State is a very respectable 36-14, but Akron is 18-31, Ball State is 24-23 and Eastern Michigan is 21-32.

The Buckeyes are 2-5 in their last 7. Not a good way to end a season. A sweep of Iowa will restore confidence. They need it going into the tournament and (hopefully) regional.

Can the Buckeyes make it in if they don't win the Big 10 or the tournament?

I dont think theyll make it if we dont win either the reg season or tourney title IMO. Lets sweep Iowa and then win the damn thing at Huntington Park
