DT Michael Hall, Jr. (Official Thread)

"Could be ready"? Wtf is going on in the WHAC? What are the injuries keeping this guy out? He only gets a few plays per half or game but he's only "Could" be ready in another 3 weeks? I don't love this at all

That's a misleading article... listen to his interview. He states a number of times how good it is to be close to 100%. I took his interview to mean he'll be as healthy as he has been all year long come game time.

But yeah I hate how we handle injuries too. If someone's dinged up then rest them properly. Otherwise they'll never get back to full capacity.

Yeah, pretty sure he’s playing without any leash in this one from what I’ve heard/read.

i think we sometimes forget that there aren't just two sides to these things - ie the coaches vs the medical staff. there's also the side of the athlete probably doing everything (including threatening to transfer) to try and get on the field and play.

so i'm not sure even the coaches have a clear handle and total control over what the player is saying to the media and how these things - eg hall's "close to 100%" statement - get interpreted.

I sure hope, we are noticeably worse up front without Hall rotating in regularly. He's flat out the most explosive guy we have up front, though the other DTs are more than capable...just don't have that big play factor on the interior without Hall in there.

I don't think we'd had heard from Hall if he was still really banged up. He's going to play and he's going to play a lot.

It's been my personal experience that doctors are 100% into protecting their a** when it comes to letting patients go back to normal things. Now, university doctors might be a bit more lenient, as they can easily replaced if they don't kowtow to coaching needs (for player to play). Mayhaps the university covers the 'errors of ommission or commision' with their diagnosis. Again, based on personal experience, the players want to go back in regardless. Here's hoping Mike is able to play and make a difference. Go Bucks!
