DT Johnathan "Big Hank" Hankins (Seattle Seahawks)

Rivals $

6/15

From the MSU site...talks about MSU's camp and watching film with the position coaches...mentions that he likes the OSU defensive scheme and has a good relationship with the OSU staff.

JT has said MD is one of the best evaluaters of defensive talent he has ever known. If MD doesn't offer, what does that say about Hankins?

I have no idea what the case is but it would depend on the need of DT for MSU. If they need/want a DT in the class and he doesn't get an offer the only other reason outside of poor talent is doesn't fit system. All this information is with almost zero knowledge on MSU's class and recruiting tendancies.

The Oklahoma offer speaks pretty loudly IMO.

You know what speaks volumes? The Ohio State offer.

If the staff wants him, he's good. Don't give me some BS about him not being a baller if Dino doesn't offer. (Not aimed at you sportsbuck, but rather our Sparty friend.)

Ohio State is trending towards more of an odd front, 34 look. The staff likely sees Hankins as another piece to that puzzle. I doubt Dantonio wants a 2 gap 0 technique very much. He never used one while he was here, and I've never seen him use one at MSU. Although I haven't seen many MSU games so I could be wrong.

Edit: And as I write this, rumors are on swirling on Rivals and Scout that Hankins will be announcing his choice tomorrow.

I think the OU offer and our offer is telling, but I also think his film is. Any time we can get a huge boy that can move like Hankins, I'm on board. I would be VERY happy to land him.

So....nothing about an offer? That'd be alarming if he left MSU's camp without one.

Do you mean alarming for MSU? I was under the impression that you were a MSU fan. Nothing wrong with that by the way, I just wanted to clarify.

Anyway, as I also said in the Graham's thread, our recruiting class is starting to shape up. I think DT was a big need for this class (don't agree with Duane Long there), at this point I am not sure Rowell or Whitner will make it to the campus and Hankins seems to have a lot of potential. Hopefully the rumors are true.
