Game of the Week: FSU @ MIAMI
Spread: FSU -2
The Game: Bring your poncho’s…the best mudders are going to win this one. Miami lost a ton of talent on the defensive side of the ball and the offense isn’t all that great. FSU has great experienced talent on both sides of the ball….but the weather may negate that advantage. Should I dare say that this game is going to come down to field goal kicking ? Xavier Beitia (fsu) has already missed two game winning tries against Miami in his career. This will be his third…. It’s strange to think that the biggest ACC game of the year is being played the first weekend of the season.
My Prediction: Miami by 1
Why: Weather and the fact that Miami just owns FSU. If the weather is not a factor I would take the Indian Casino Owners by 6.

Game 2: TOLEDO @ MINNESOTA
Spread: Minn-11
The Game: There may not be more than two three-and-outs the entire night. Both teams are going to move the football up and down the field at will.…Minnesota on the ground and the Rockets with the arm of Bruce Graduatealreadyowski. The Gophers averaged 38.7 pts last year and Toledo averaged 32.4….they will both be on their average Saturday night.
My Prediction: Minnesota by 6.3
Why: Against the two best rushing teams they faced last year the Rockets gave up 303 yds (Syr.) and 233 yds (N.Ill) on the ground. And the Gophers may be better than Syracuse in the ground game.
Would I bet on this game: Yes-I’d take Toledo to cover
Game 3: SOUTH CAROLINA @ VANDERBILT
Spread: USC –5.5
The Game: This game earns recognition simply because it is an SEC East battle that will show if the Commodores are improving or if South Carolina has a shot at finishing in the top three in the league. If the Cocks RB Demetris Summers is healthy he is worth the price of admission himself. On the other side, Jay Cutler is a nice versatile quarterback who can keep the game close for Vandy.
My Prediction: USC by 11
Why: Vanderbilt has had 21 consecutive losing seasons. It will be 22 after this campaign.
Would I bet on this game: Yes-I’d take S.Carolina
Game 4: CINCINNATI @ OHIO STATE
Spread: TOSU –15.5
The Game: This game has an enormous gap in experience…Cincy has 9 returning starters on offense (9 sr, 2 jr) and 8 on defense (10 sr)..while the Buckeyes have 4 returning on offense (2 sr, 4 jr, 5 so) and 4 returning on defense (2 sr, 5 jr, 4 so). Wow. Experience could play a major role in the first quarter to third of this game.
My Prediction: tOSU by 11.
Why: The game is played in the Shoe. Also, for all the experience that the Bearcats have on the field…this will be Dantonio’s first ever game as a head coach…I would place the odds at 3 to 1 that Dantonio starts running into the wrong locker room at the end of the first half. The cats will cover…I mean does anyone really think Coach Tressel will do anything but run the ball three times and punt if the Buckeyes are up by more than a touchdown against Dantonio?
