Devin Smith makes costly mistake in Jets' loss to Houston

The former standout has had trouble adjusting to life in the League, and it doesn't seem to be getting easier.
Week 11 in the NFL has produced a clear divide between teams that will be seeing the postseason and those that won't. While there are a few former Buckeyes on a roll, more have struggled with making an impact or sidelined with an injury. While there are still five weeks left, it's safe to say several former Ohio State players haven't quite had the season that they would have hoped for.
Devin Smith on thin ice
He hasn't been able to make the transition to the NFL as smoothly as he and the Jets would have liked, and after another week that included a dropped touchdown pass, his coaches are losing patience.
Todd Bowles asked about Devin Smith's dropped TD: "Our rookies have got to stop being rookies." Bowles is not pleased.

Smith has only recorded seven catches in all seven games he's played, for only 82 yards. He's also seen limited playing time after missing most of the preseason and being behind in his punt/kick return practice.
Injuries have been an issue all season
Throughout the season, former Buckeyes have faced their share of injuries, several concussions and season ending surgeries. Week 11 was no different -- Carlos Hyde, Corey 'Philly' Brown and Andrew Norwell were out.
New York Jets center Nick Mangold has been sidelined several weeks this season with a reoccurring neck injury, but had to leave Sunday's game with a severe laceration to his right hand, requiring stitches just before halftime.X-rays were negative, but he will have an MRI Monday to see if there is any ligament and/or tendon damage. Worst of all, Mangold doesn't even know how he got the cut -- in between his pinky and ring fingers.
"I came to the sideline and I saw some blood," he said, according to ESPN. "I looked down and that's when we went inside. ... It was completely random. I haven't seen anything like this before. This is a new one."
Play of the week
Kurt Coleman
Another week, another Coleman interception. He is a big reason the Carolina Panthers are still undefeated, and has been a strong addition this offseason. With Sunday's addition, Coleman now has four interceptions this season and six passes defended.

- There were lots of Buckeyes on bye this week, including: Cleveland Browns (Brian Hartline, Donte Whitner) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (Mike Adams, Will Allen, Cameron Heyward, Ryan Shazier).
