Box Score
Connecticut took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second off Ohio State starter Jaron Long. Bryan Daniello was hit by a pitch with two down, stole second and scored on an RBI single to center by Jon Testani.
Ohio State threatened in the bottom of the third against Connecticut starter Anthony Marzi when Kirby Pellant tripled down the right-field line with two down, Ryan Cypret was hit by a pitch and Brad Hallberg walked to load the bases. However, Marzi was able to strike out Aaron Gretz swinging to end the threat and preserve the 1-0 advantage.
The Buckeyes then tied it in the bottom of the fifth when Cypret hit a solo shot to left, his first of the season, to make it a 1-1 game. It could have been more for the Buckeyes but Pellant was ruled to have not touched first base on what looked to be a double down the left-field line for the second out of the inning before Cypret came to the plate.
