DE Tyreke Smith (Official Thread)

Even though Smith declined to name a leader or state a favorite list, he did mention a few schools that are sticking out to him.

"I would say schools like Ohio State, Penn State and Notre Dame hit me up the most, and they are showing a lot of love to me," Smith admitted. "It would be hard to walk away from these schools, because of how much love they've given me."

"Ohio State is a place where I have great relationships with (defensive line coach) Larry Johnson and Coach (Urban) Meyer," he said. "Penn State has been recruiting me for a long time, and they offered me very early in the process. Notre Dame has such great tradition, and I like everything about the school."

The Buckeyes are one of the staff’s recruiting Smith the hardest.

“Ohio State definitely,” Smith said. “Penn State, Oregon, USC, Notre Dame, LSU, there’s a lot of schools really hitting me up. There’s a lot of schools.”

Smith, who is from California, will be back there July 18-24 visiting USC and UCLA.

“It’s definitely a big pull to go back there,” Smith said. “A lot of friends are out there still that miss me. It’s just a good time to go back and get to see some friends and take it all in.”

But Smith is pretty well established in Ohio now too.

“It’s definitely big,” Smith said in regards to living in the Buckeye State now. “Coach Urban Meyer doesn’t want to let me go. He doesn’t want to let me get out of the state and I appreciate that. He is definitely recruiting me hard. He hits me up every day. That shows me a lot.”
