heres what the vg said about him.
rose is definitely a decent prospect. he looked like a terror coming off the edge or a threat down the middle as a tight end. could go either way in college.

He's a DE in a big WR body. Got those sprinter legs and still has a big frame. He absolutely tore up the combine in SA, close to getting MVP from what I'm being told.

Probably a bit raw at this point, but has the upside to be great at tOSU.

I believe he clocked in a 6'6 240 and ran a mid-to-high 4.6. Great measurables for a high school junior.

I would really like to see us land Rose & Small, and Daven Jones doesn't sound to shabby either. I know Small has a 3.2 GPA, anyone know grades on these other kids?

#99 - I don't know who this guy is, but he is a physical freak. Played DE and TE, and has to be in the 6'4 240 neighborhood. Seems like a raw specimen, but I do believe he's a junior. Definitely a D1-caliber player to keep an eye on.

#99 Blew up the line a lot, played real well, impressive, lacked size to play inside like he did at the next level. Has good upfield movement and a good "motor"

I have been watching high school D-Linemen play here in Ohio since Moby Dick was just a small minnow. I'm old enough to remember watching Gary Jeter play for Cleveland Catherdal Latin. This Rose kid is as good as any.

He is being played out of position, and is not well coached. IMHO like Ginn Jr., he will be a force by the end of his freshmen year. This is one recruit I'll pray on our getting.

Rose looks like a beast! 6'6", 240 lbs, and runs 4.6

And to top that off, he's only a junior now! I hope TOSU is focused in on Rob. He even looks prototype DE! Think Buckeyes...........

What position do you see him at then?
The game I saw him play in, was the state semi-final against Canton McKinley. Rose was playing inside (DT) instead of being able to use his speed to crash in from the outside. It's kind of like the curse of being the biggest kid.

Rose looks like a Greek statue wearing a football uniform. The other odd thing was Glenville lost the game 20-17 and Jamo returned a punt 99 yards but played almost zero offensive. How can you not play your biggest card in a close game?

Alright. I thought he was a passrushing DE, but I wasn't sure where they were playing him. I assume gets the majority of his time at DE because he will be a Sr and TG1 will let him show off his skills.

i got film on rose and small (s?, i have seen it both ways) and all the glenville guys. i drove up to see them once this year. someday i will get around to capping off some stuff and posting it.

as for rose, he looked really good for an underclassman. i thought he was at end when i saw him but maybe it was inside, not sure anymore. i do remember him being a force getting to the qb jaquemain (sp?) from mentor. he also looked like the prototype tight end. decent hands and more than decent speed. can't comment on his blocking though. if his speed is 4.6 legit (and most glenville speed numbers do seem to be legit unlike nearly every other HS player) as reported earlier, i have no doubt he will be ranked similar to where pierre woods was, probably top 100, may even push top 50.

ray small totally changed that game around though with about 3 huge plays in the span of maybe a few minutes. i would like to see him touching the ball in columbus, but i am sure he could play D as well. his dad was very proud at the game for obvious reasons.

both small and rose were really good that game as was freddie lenix. jamario was quiet and ted sr was very vocal with jamario on the offensive side of the ball. jamario seemed to not be playing within the scheme and sr was having none of it. still with all that talent, i thought number 44 was probably one of the best pure football players that night. excellent tackler, excellent angles to the ball, good speed, and the ability to be in the right place at the right time and somehow never be blocked. that is basically the exact same way i describe antoine winfield to my non buckeye friends. i don't know 44's name and he is far from being a winfield type of player, and i really hate comparing players to others at all, but man that guy played some mean corner for going totally unhyped. that dude is going to make some coach look really smart.

i would post some pics here but my borther wasn't able to go to HS football with me this year but one game and i can't work the camcorder and the still at the same time. him not being available kind of killed HS football for me this year honestly, it wasn't the same going by myself.

sorry about rambling on about glenville in gerneral in a player specific thread. once i got rolling it just kind of flowed out and i didn't want to chop it up and spread it around the board.
