DE Javontae Jean-Baptiste (transfer to Notre Dame, Washington Commanders)

82. Javontae Jean-Baptiste, Notre Dame, defensive lineman

The Ohio State transfer, who had 11 TFLs and eight sacks in 45 games with the Buckeyes, should give the Irish D-line depth a big boost. The 6-4 1/2, 260-pounder broad-jumped 10-5 this offseason and vertical-jumped 35 inches. On the GPS, he hit 20.4 MPH. Even more impressive, Jean-Baptiste did 45 pull-ups.

He’s not 260 pounds…

250 tops

Another selling point for recruits. The training/coaching he received at tOSU has stood him in good stead. "Couldn't start at tOSU, but went to ND and is now the starting DE." Same as the WR that xferred to Bama - was #13 in NFL draft behind our two WRs. Posters above said it first, that he looked around the DL room, and saw players above him, and those below him catching up fast, so hit the portal. Don't blame him one bit. NFL isn't going to waste a draft pick on a good player that played sporadically, but he'll get national exposure with ND. Wish him well, as BestBuck says, except for the contest betwen ND and the good guys. tOSU by 24....
