Here's the intel I found for him about his DB stats
Moves back to linebacker this year after a season as a starting cornerback … has size and speed and is being counted on to help fill the void created by the departure of Joe Cooper and Courtland Bullard … physical player who is much more at home at linebacker, but who offered to help out at corner in 2001 when the Buckeyes were looking for a starter … his speed at linebacker will allow the Buckeyes to stay in their “base” defense a little longer and not go to the nickel package quite as quickly … that speed should also make him effective on the blitz … consistently put up good numbers in the spring … 2001 RECAP: One of the more intriguing stories of the year … emerged from spring practice as a solid backup at linebacker, but surprised the coaching staff in the fall by asking to move to cornerback, a position he had never played … given the opportunity, he worked his way into the two-deep and started 10 of the 12 games … finished the year as the Buckeyes fourth-leading tackler with 56 stops … also had five passes broken up and a three interceptions (Penn State, Purdue and South Carolina) … had a career-high nine tackles against Northwestern and eight at Penn State … scooped up a fumble at UCLA and returned it 32 yards … suffered a mild concussion at Minnesota, but was back in the lineup the following week … 2000 RECAP: Was shifted from safety to linebacker in the spring of 2000 … did not play in the first two games, but did see action in the last 10 … had 13 tackles … four stops at Iowa was his top effort … also excelled with the special teams …

Doss, Whitner were easy selections at safety IMO. Allen went on to become a great safety, but also made huge plays during the 02 season at nickel back.

Gamble, despite the 03 UM game, was the most valuable CB in sometime. Our cupboard was very thin and somehow he came in and made a huge impact. He had a number of big time INTs in 02 to help us win, including the PSU runback to produce our only TD (winning the game for us).

I gave the final spot to Fox, tho he narrowly edged out Clements.

good god that was the toughest poll yet! i felt a little dirty not picking clements. whitner, doss and gamble were very easy choices. will allen stepped in and we didn't miss a beat. and fox... i just couldn't help but vote for him. clements was likely the better athlete, but i think fox played a far bigger role in the leadership dept. was a really tough call but i had to go with fox.

Corner: Gamble and I went Fox over Youboty and Clements. I always though Clements was a little overrated, lots of talent but got toasted alot. In hindsight, Youboty may have been a little better overall, but Fox was a better tackler and while he gave up some passes, he never really seemed to get beat deep, and Youboty wasn't as stellar this past year as I thought he could have been.

Safety: Doss is a given, and I went Allen over Whitner. Both were very good, but Will just always seemed to have a knack for making the big play exactly when we needed it.

I can't vote for Clements. I still remember him getting beat like a rented mule against Minnesota, a week after telling everybody how great he was after the Wisky game. that crap wouldn't have been tolerated under JT.

Doss, Whitner, Clements, Youboty, Gamble. Clements/Gamble would be the starters at CB, but when we move to a nickle I'd want Gamble to be the nickle back with Youboty taking over the corner, I like his ability to play the run as a DB if we're going to be showing a softer front.
