HOUSTON — Denver Broncos assistant general manager Rick Smith has accepted the job as the Houston Texans' GM and will be introduced at a press conference today, the Houston Chronicle reported.
<!-- inset --><!--begintext-->Smith, 36, is a Meadowdale High School graduate who played football at Purdue.
He replaces Charley Casserly, who spent 6 1/2 years as general manager before resigning last month to pursue a position with the NFL office in New York.
Smith and his wife, Tiffany, have a son, Robert LaMar, 3.
