D'Angelo Russell shows off scoring ability, Mike Conley and Jared Sullinger get double-doubles

One former Buckeye put up great numbers in the scoring column while two others picked up double-doubles.
Mike Conley, PG, Memphis Grizzlies
After a few rough outings last week, Mike Conley was hoping to bounce back this time around. While the Grizzlies finished just 2-2 on the week, Conley was able to perform at a higher level this week. The former Buckeye finished the four games with an average of 13.5 points, 6.8 assists, and 2.3 rebounds. Conley also was able to score and dish his way to another double-double -- his second of the season-- which will go down as his top performance.
Best Performance: In the most recent contest in which his Grizzlies squad took on the Wizards in a game that Memphis won by double-digits, Conley tallied his best stat line of the week. The 6'1, 175-pounder was able to score 18 points on 7-14 shooting and knocked down two triples. To go along with the solid night in the scoring column, Conley dished out a team-high 11 assists and added four rebounds in 37 minutes.

Kosta Koufos, C, Sacramento Kings
While Kosta Koufos was unable to match the double-double efforts of Conley and Sullinger, as you'll see later, he was able to put together a fair performance even though he never eclipsed 20 minutes in a single game this week. The 7-footer shot 58.8% from the floor and scored at a 6.6 PPG average, while also adding 4.6 boards off the bench. Not the most exciting lines, but Koufos pitched in respectably as the Kings went 3-0 on the week.
Best Performance: Last night, the Kings got a solid contribution from Koufos in their victory over the Rockets. Despite only getting 19 minutes on the court, Koufos made his mark by scoring 8 points on an efficient 4-7 shooting, which is good for 57.1%. Koufos also added six rebounds, one block, and finished the night with a +14 +/- rating -- his best of the season.

D'Angelo Russell, SG, Los Angeles Lakers
Could we tab this as D'Angelo Russell's best NBA week thus far? It certainly was offensively. Last year's standout Buckeye was able to average a ridiculous 19.5 points per contest in the four games the Lakers played this week. Russell had two 20+ point outings and recorded his three highest scoring games on the season in this week. Russell was very aggressive on the offensive end, with 13 shot attempts being his weekly low, and he was efficient despite that. Russell finished the week shooting a hair over 44% and added 4.5 assists and four rebounds on the week.
Best Performance: While it eventually equaled his second lowest FG% of the week, Russell played fairly well Friday night when the Lakers squared off against the Spurs on ESPN. The rookie was able to secure his highest point total of his short NBA career when he put up 24 points. Of the nine buckets that Russell would make, five of them were three-pointers. Russell finished the night shooting 50% from beyond the arc and added six rebounds and six assists in the losing effort.
Team Record: 4-21

Jared Sullinger, PF, Boston Celtics
After finishing last week with a career night, it wasn't exactly the best week for Jared Sullinger. The Celtics forward only scored in double figures one time out of his last four. He also was widely inefficient from the floor, as his best shooting night was a 40% effort. Sullinger finished the week averaging just 6.5 points and shot a forgettable 31.4%. On the bright side, he was able to put together two 10+ rebound nights and secure his seventh double-double.
Best Performance: Wednesday night, Sullinger started his week right where he left off. It was another double-double performance for the Buckeye state product as he pitched in for the Celtics by dropping 10 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. The double-double would be his seventh of the season already for Boston. Sully also swatted three shots in the victory over Chicago.
Team Record: 14-11
Upcoming Games: Tonight @ Detroit Pistons, 12/18 vs Atlanta Hawks, 12/21 vs Minnesota Timberwolves.
Evan Turner, SF, Boston Celtics
Evan Turner was able to build on his solid performance last week, after stinking it up the week prior. The Chicago native tallied up a 10.5 PPG average with only one game in which he didn't eclipse the double-digit mark. Turner also got it done in the rebounding and assisting categories. Turner would secure over five rebounds per night while dishing out an exact average of five assists.
Best Performance: On Friday night, in a game in which the Celtics almost handed the Warriors their first loss of the season, Turner pieced together a very solid line. Turner would drop 13 points --tying his week high-- on 50% shooting (6-12). In addition to that, Turner would finish the night with nine rebounds and six assists. Not to be forgotten, two steals and two blocks were also included in the stat line.
