This image is going to haunt Trumbull County Sheriff Tom Altiere and Deputy Phil Eckenrode for a long time. This is exactly what they don't want to have happen when they are providing security for defendants in court cases. Sheriff Tom Altiere: "We were a little short yesterday. We had one extra that could have been there but he wasn't. We had more deputies on the way at that time." But at the time members of a family of four who Jason Howard is accused of killing in a separate case charged the courtroom Eckenrode was the only deputy inside. He was screaming for help to get the defendant away from the attackers. So I pulled Howard back.
Deputy Phil Eckenrode: "My main concern was Jason Howard and what this person might do to Jason, I was trying to pull him off and secure him and put him under arrest at that point." Moments later numerous deputies ran into the courtroom and were finally able to subdue the attackers. Trumbull County Commissioner Paul Heltzel: "Yeah, obviously it would have been better to have more deputies to get that either to prevent it or to nip it in the bud so it didn't go as far as it did." And Judge Wyatt McKay recently issued an order demanding that at least four deputies be in the courtroom during the murder trial of Jermaine McKinney. Commissioners and Judges say they will meet in the next few days to discuss this week's fight and what can be done to prevent this from happening again. Many are still listening to the unions, voting straight Democrat (look up election results if you don't believe it) and waiting for the steel mills to return. The rest are on welfare. Youngstown is never coming back.

I was recruited to this area years ago. I knew no one, but it was one of those types of positions where you couldn't just put your brother-in-law in it so they had to recruit competent candidates from out of the area. I'm on the first plane out as soon as it makes financial sense for me to do it.

Seriously. Why can't they just learn from highly educated areas like McAllen, TX and vote strongly Republican?

Setting aside the inaccuracy of your perceptions of McAllen, Texas' voting practices, the facts in this case are Youngstown is stupid and predominantly Democratic. Whether those facts are disconcerting to you personally is irrelevant.

    There, everyone happy now?

What fucking difference does it make how these towns vote? :smash:

It's just sad/fitting that ytown was pointed out for yet another negative - if it's not dead already, its definitely dying...
