Coaches Sitting on the Hot Seat in 2015

You kids stay off my lawn!
Now that Hoke is gone... gotta wonder if the Irish are looking. After getting to an NCG they haven't met fan expectations (what team ever does?) and it seemed to me that Kelly turned the purple rage down a bit on the sidelines. You don't have to post a losing season at ND to get the boot in the ass.

I also wonder how many more seasons Les Miles can go without beating Alabama and without developing something like a QB.

And then there's Darrell Hazell at Purdue. There's losing, losing to MAC schools and losing to Indiana, not to mention having the attendance figures drop to 1951 levels/

When your field looks like this

The coaching isn't the problem.

Kent State is probably just holding onto Haynes long enough for Hazell to get canned so they can get him back on a lifetime contract. I thought he would do well at Purdue, but I don't see it turning around. IIRC the place seemed nice when I was there back in 2000.

Purdue is undertaking another round of renovations, including massive scoreboards on both the north and south ends that will enclose them. Last I read on the topic they were shooting for boards "slightly" bigger than what Texas A&M just added, which of course were themselves slightly bigger than the Godzillatron in Austin.

I'd bet they move to artificial turf as part of that project. Also discussing adding permanent lights and alcohol sales.

I think Purdue needs to use their share of OSU being good at football money to actually maintain their football facilities. Their field has always been subpar. I remember marching on it in HS and thinking it looked/felt as good or worse than my high school's field.

Pshaw. They've got better things to do with their cash.

New Purdue softball stadium elevates program

The upgrade should provide a bump in the program's recruiting. Purdue's facility is on par or better than nearly all of the Big Ten stadiums. Most of the conference schools have improved their facilities or built new ones in the past 10 to 15 years

Any chance you could provide a link? Google isn't my friend, I guess. I have only seen that they want to do something but have not made concrete plans.

Ross-Ade Stadium South End Zone Update

Over the summer, the athletics department, in partnership with CSL Inc., conducted a market analysis and survey sent to more than 50,000 donors, alumni and fans. We are grateful for the responses received. Some of the most popular feedback received included:

* Need for an updated video board and sound system
* Desire for a more affordable premium club/seating option to complement existing spaces
* Upgrades that help the football program continue to be more successful on the field
* Connectivity between the south end zone and the rest of the stadium
* Permanent lighting in the stadium
* Creation of a more intimate, loud and exciting environment

The firms will submit initial concepts this month, and they will be reviewed by the Ross-Ade South End Zone Selection Advisory Committee. The committee is comprised of coaches, current and former student-athletes, students, JPC members, and community leaders, as well as university staff from athletics, physical facilities and the treasurer's office. The committee will choose select firms to move forward, and in January those firms will present their final concepts. These ideas also will be shared with the general public.

Once the firm and concept is decided, university officials will begin the financial and facility planning.

Isn't it Purdue Turf tm? It was supposed to be the real grass field that could stand up to a season, drain quickly and be superior to Astro Turf. Ohio State bought the system when they decided to go back to grass, but they couldn't get the grass to develop deep roots and that's when they went with Pro Turf iirc.
