Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens, Sept. 15th, 1pm ET, CBS

Seriously, though...if Weeden plays like dogshit again, I'd wager we'll have a full-blown QB controversy on our hands. Those are always so much fun. Especially when the backup is mediocrity incarnate.

THe thing that pissed me off about him last week was his post-game presser they covered on "Browns Tonight". It was the way he said shit, like "Well I don't think you can have a loss and not look back and find some plays you could have made better" type of crap that basically seemed to absolve himself of the trouble and blame everyone else. I don't know, he didn't say anything egregious, but even last year with his "I think I had a pretty good day" comment after a loss that he had to take back, he just seems to think he is playing well enough. Newsflash, bub: you aren't, and you don't have youth to blame or fall back on, either.

I'm still without words that they spent a 1st round pick on the guy. I mean, I'm REALLY hoping he somehow pulls it together and can give them a couple of good years, but, man...he was just south of 30 when they drafted him and coming out of a gimmicky offense. It was just...so...bad.

It was a shot at saving the jobs of the old coaching staff, but it was a stupid move considering that Weeden is the complete opposite of the type of QB that Shurmur's offense needed. At least Weeden is a perfect fit for the current offense so if he fails this year there is no point of keeping him around.

I think he'll be better than he was last week, but they have to fix the OL. I still wouldn't be gung ho on drafting a QB in the first round next year since the team won't get better until they fix the issues on the OL, WR, and CB2. If they have a shot at drafting a true NFL #1 WR I would go for it and then go guard in the second round. Draft depth at RB, DB, ILB, and OL with the rest of the picks. Maybe throw in a developmental QB if they like one. I'm hoping Weeden shows a lot of improvement as the season plays out and wins the job for the next few years.

There is no QB in the NFL that looks good with your line giving up 6 sacks, tons of hurries and pressures. Weeds and Trent had their own guards in their face half the time - as much as I'd like to be the stereotypical Browns fan and blame the QB, I just can't do it.

Good QBs don't repeatedly chuck the ball out of bounds on 4th down. There is plenty of blame to go around, and Weeden doesn't own it, but he shares in it.

Don't see anybody "blaming" Weeden, just saying he hasn't been very good...which, given a 16 game sample-size (and his age), doesn't seem like a stretch.
