  • The Buckeyes leave the Yankee's Spring Training venue in Tampa having gone a disappointing 1-3 in the Buckeye Classic. The next 3 games are scheduled for Clearwater vs Georgetown, Lehigh and Duquense.

    About the Georgetown Hoyas

    The Hoyas have come back to win their last 2 games, a sweep of St. Josephs 10-2 and 9-8, after dropping their first three games. Davidson swept Georgetown in their first series of the season in three high-scoring affairs 16-15, 20-14 and 6-3.

    About the Duquesne Dukes

    The Dukes are 0-3 on the year after being swept by #15 ranked Georgia Tech in Atlanta by the scores of 11-2, 10-7, and 15-6.

    About the Lehigh Mountain Hawks

    The Hawks, defending Patriot League tournament Champions, are 0-1 on the year after losing 13-7 to Delaware State. The second game of the doubleheader was called after 6 1/2 innings on account of darkness with the score knotted at 4-4.

    Duquesne game rained out, will not be made up

    CLEARWATER, Fla. - The baseball game between Ohio State and Duquesne in the Clearwater College Invitational at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium was cancelled Saturday because of rain. The game will not be made up. The Buckeyes (2-3) are scheduled to play Lehigh Sunday at 10 a.m. weather permitting.

    JB Shuck played CF .. i dont recall him playing there before.

    True utility players like JB are a huge help.


    Anyway, just looking around the B10..we are playing like about the 7th or 8th place team. Minny, scUM, Purdue, Iowa, Michigan St, and maybe Penn St. have us covered at the moment...IMO

    A lot can change, but we are not doing nearly as well as i'd hoped. Maybe we can turn it around at the kennel Club Classic... sadly, if we keep playing like this, we could lose 2 or 3 games next weekend. UNF, UCONN, and W Michigan are more than capable of beating us at this point.

    and then its on to Bradenton...quit possibly the worst collection of teams ever. Geesh..i hope we find somewhere else to play next year. While other B10 teams play quality opposition, we play 6 of our next 12 against the ivy league!
