This thread is for discussing all aspects of what the Bengals will do, should do, actually did, and should have done during this weekend's draft.

There's a separate thread for the Browns, and a separate thread for the overall draft.

Hopefully the Bengals will be able to get either Whitner or Cromartie in the 1st and either Pope or Lewis in the 2nd. Darryl Tapp, the DE from V-Tech wouldn't be a bad pickup in the 2nd or 3rd either.

Wow, Joseph...not a bad pick, probably the best pure CB available....this is a sign that Ratliff needs to get a fire lit under his ass.....I think Jimmy Williams must have come to the combine stoned or something, his stock in this draft is sinking faster than Kevin Federline's recording career....

2nd round-can you say hasta la vista Levi Jones/Big Willie? Whitworth was a former tennis star! Obviously Marvin ( and other coaches/GMs) was not as enamored w/ Leonard Pope as the fans were. Look for a TE from W. Michigan, Tony Scheffler in the 3rd round....

Marvin's drafts are not exciting-quality picks, but not much WOW or WTF factor.........

Frostee Rucker...good lord...is that really the best defender around....gabe watson is still on the board....Marvin is pissing me off.....

As a Steeler fan I was hoping you guys would screw up and take him too high. They guys got Dan Wilkinsons work ethic with about 1/10th the talent. In the old days he'd have been your #1 pick, be thankful you have people in charge witha brain now.

Greeaatttt....in the pre-draft write-ups I read, everyone said his pass rushing ability was what stood out!
Any ideas why Bing has fallen so far?

Our other DE, Lawrence Jackson, was really our biggest pass rushing threat. Had Jeff Schweiger not found his way into Carroll's doghouse, I think he would've replaced Rucker on passing situations.

No idea on Bing. Given the string of disasters this last week, it wouldn't surprise me to learn something came out about him that hasn't been made public (this is completely unfounded speculation).

Well the Bengals continue to bolster the defense - their latest pick is AJ Niicholson, which goes against the norm a little.

Overall though I have not much complaint about this draft by the Bengals.
