"Dry" Humor
It happens every year. Right around September I start to see Christmas ornaments/decorations pop up in my favorite stores. Come October you have just as much Christmas decorations/ornaments in the stores as you do Halloween stuff. I love Christmas as much, if not more than the next person but do they have to put the pressure on so early to start buying!!! I'm not supposed to be thinking about what I'm going to buy my kid or boyfriend for Christmas this soon. I still have to buy my son a costume for Halloween!

Is anybody else sick of the commercialism of the holidays?

Some weeks, days and "holidays" this month
National School Lunch Week - really, ya wanna celebrate?
National Footwear Week - bet that one gets stuck at the end of the month and stinks
National Denim Day October 25th - threadbare for ideas - the jean pool?
Halloween, National Magic Day, UNICEF Day - all on the same day, who at the UN decided that Intl Childrens Education should be celebreated on the same day we dress up the micro-people as the spawn of Satan (or as Harry Potter given tis Nat'l Magic day) and get them to mindlessly indulge a sweet tooth, pester neighbors and threaten havoc on the elderly if they don'tget their way? -- Trick or treat anyone?

I haven't seen too much Christmas stuff out yet.... last year was our first year down here and it was real hard to believe it was Christmas when it was 70, sunny and no snow on the ground. The guy across the street from us has a huge palm tree in his front yard... maybe 100 feet tall... last year he had it all decked out with lights :)
