Ridiculous...I thought Coach O'Brien was masterful when he sent a tape to the ACC and the publicly said he wasn't going to tell them what to do, but that he "wanted to know if this is the way we play football in the ACC". Puts a major impotus on them to do something stern.

As for Groh, he says he asked his player about it, but refused to say what he said. Sounds like a cop-out to me, though I guess he could handle it in-house.

The guy should be suspended for at least 5 games...it's not like it was an extra step, or just out of bounds, or whatever...he saw an injury, after a play, and tried to end the guy's career.

That should never be tolerated in any fashion.

seeing shit like that automatically makes me feel like a BC fan and being instantly infuriated. the bastard wouldnt make it out of cbus alive if he did that to one of our players as blatant as that. any word on how kiwi faired afterwards?

Boston College was down 14-7 in this game, and then played tough crisp football to win 28-17 after this play. It was the ABC game in my region, so I gave it a gander. This was the play that fired them up to go on to the victory, so I guess it didn't exactly work out for the Lumberjack-looking guy.

Also, DeJuan Tribble of Cincinnati (North College Hill, I think?) was making plays all over the place for BC. He's a nice cornerback/return man. Picked up two fumbles, broke up a TD pass, had a nice return, etc...Nick Larkin of St. X and the BC linebacker from Elder, I believe, were not big factors. I would say that the Bucks are about on an even level with BC.

If I was a DE going up against him next Saturday, I would make his life hell. I would fire off the ball so hard every play just trying to beat the shit out of him, theres no room for that shit in football. How would you feel if that was your kid down there, and he got a cheap shot and hurt like that???

i completely agree with you. hopefully, no DE will get the chance to do this to do him since his sorry excuse for a football player will not be on the field. take away the kids scholorship IMO. the refs should also get a nice little talking too.

also, though i dont agree with it, Washington had some balls when he hit Butler back and he unfortunatly ended up paying the price.

Fucking pathetic, he gets suspended for 1 game. ONE GAME. Someone get him off the football field for a year.

Also, have to love the classy quote from Butler:
I've never been one to play outside of the rules," Butler said in the statement. "I was not trying to hurt Mathias Kiwanuka. I was engaged in blocking him because he is the type of player who makes plays all over the field. I regret this event occurred and have put the incident behind me."

Yeah, watching that clip, it's OBVIOUS you were going for the block and playing through the whistle, right? Just lucky that BC DE didn't get seriously hurt; looked like he was already limping and that chopblock could have taken out his knee or something disgusting.

On a sidenote, isn't this BC DE a virtual lock for the first round?

Some look at him as the best DE in all of college football, hes a nightmore for an offense they say, and should be a top 20 pick. Thats complete bs, everyone can tell that it was late, he wasnt even close to engaged before he chopped him, hopefully the NCAA steps in and pressures Virginia to put more severe punishments upon his dirty ass...
