CB Kendall Sheffield (New York Jets)

Definitely wish Kendall the best of luck at the next level. While I see him as a 3rd round-ish pick in the upcoming draft, I don't think another year here would have improved his stock much. No offense at all to Kendall, but I think he had topped out here and really didn't have anything to gain by staying. Hope he kills it at the combine and gets drafted as high as possible.

If he would have gotten the fundamentals down he would potentially have gone higher. He was always in position just hs man seemed o make the play more often then not. so kncocking those away might have helped or it might have been viewedd as taking forever to learn and no benifit.

Two years in a row we have had players get significant injuries at the combine. How many got hurt in the last two bowl games? Hmm
I think everyone agrees with your point. Whether it's in a pointless bowlgame, or an exhibitional practice...it sucks getting hurt for free when you're so close to getting paid. No wonder so many that can, choose to skip both.

I wonder about the torn pectoral injuries. Is it that they're trying to do too much at the combine, not stretching enough, etc? These aren't old guys trying to get back into the gym after twenty years. I just don't get the bench press injuries. Not down on them, it just seems like there's got to be an explanation and way to prevent things like this.

SKULL SESSION: RYAN DAY'S CAREER JOURNEY, DWAYNE HASKINS DRESSES THE PART FOR THE BRONCOS, AND KENDALL SHEFFIELD WORKS OUT FOR SCOUTS

STOCK GOING UP, ON A THURSDAY.
I'll never forget Damon Arnette's description of Kendall Sheffield when he arrived in Columbus: "He looks like an action figure."

And, I mean...

He probably didn't have the Buckeye career fan's were expecting (which isn't even much of a criticism when the standard is set at "become a first-round pick"), but nobody's ever really doubted his athleticism.

It sucked that he didn't get to put it on display at the combine after a pectoral injury, but he still got his chance to impress scouts ahead of the draft.

NFL Draft knower and Eleven Warriors Senior Reporter (peep that fancy title, y'all) Dan Hope tells me "those are great numbers," so it looks like Sheffield could have improved his stock after all.

As a poster of online content, I feel personally victimized that Sheffield does not appear to have run the 40-yard dash, because he was absolutely going to run something in the low 4.3 or high 4.2 range.

But Sheffield is probably fine letting his Ohio State 60m draft record speak for itself. Nobody's doubting his speed.
