Can cell phones swim in the ocean?

I've determined the answer is a resounding no, so now I need to get a new one. What is the easiest (cheapest) and fastest way to replace my Motorola Razr (AND SIM CARD) with another Motorola Razr for Cingular?

I've already got all of the accessories so I'd prefer to stick with a Razr, unless the new Motorolas (e.g., Krzr and Slvr) have car chargers which are interchangeable.

huh. my cell phone couldn't swim in a pool that was by the ocean either. maybe it's the salt?

Don't think so. My wife's couldn't swim in a pool here in Ohio. No salt involved. Bizarre.

Alas! Cell phones are part of the disposable nation.
Great opportunity to get an iPhone!

Alright heres my step by step guide to fix water damaged phones:

1.) Phone falls into toliet, pool, other source of aqua

2.) DO NOT turn on the phone, i have turned mine on and had no problems, but theoritcally the potential to short circuit the phone if you turn it on while wet is very high.

3.) Stick said phone into the oven or under a hair dryer until dry. The oven method worked on phone 1, and i used a hair dryer on phone 2.. bake at lowest temp possible... 175, 200 (i left mine in for a solid 45 minutes because sopranos got me distracted)

4.) Let it cool off

5.) Test it out
