With all due respect to Kurt, I don't recall seeing anything from him on the level of Barnett's play within the first two games of his career. Considering him along with other guys who looked as good as early, All American status (at some point) is not out of the question for CJ.

Of course, what usually comes next is the obligatory "let's not go annointing him yet..." speech from the usual suspects. To forestall that nonsense I will point out that no one has annointed him anything. It has simply been stated as being "not out of the question".

I think CJ is gonna be a good player. But I also think we should see more than 1 good game before we start saying All american and compare him to Kurt Coleman. Kurt was a great safety, and if CJ can be anything like Kurt we got a good one.

Barnett Staying Optimistic During Rehab

The flashes weren?t specifically for him, but it had to feel like they were as he ran onto the field for the Sugar Bowl wearing his No. 4 Ohio State jersey.

Barnett felt both familiar and foreign being back in pads after nearly four months away from the game, and although it was only for show, he couldn?t help but feel the excitement building inside him over the thought of getting back on the field.

?My knee?s getting better,? said Barnett, who started the first two games at strong safety for the Buckeyes last season.

?I think I should be back by the spring time. I hope to be so I can improve, I?m trying to get better.?

"That's what God dealt me," he said.
"And you just have to make the best out of it."

C.J. was in my Criminology/Sociology major orientation last week. Real nice, quiet kid. Hopefully he can rehab from this injury and be a big part of the defense next year.
