C.J. Barnett (Director of Player Development)

I remember rumblings about his lack of aggressiveness, but today he really stuck his head in there and broke up some pivotal passes. Glad to have him, and hope he's ok.

Hopefully seeing him just icing on the sidelines and not on crutches means it's not serious. It looked to me like maybe he knocked knees or something. So maybe it's just going to be sore for a while but not a season ender.

I also thought he played well back there. Definitely not afraid to come up and smack somebody. He jarred the ball loose on a couple occasions.

I'm pretty sure CJ got carted off the field with a couple of minutes left in the game. Hopefully the injury isn't serious. He was a difference maker today.

Yes he did. I was in 32 B in the first row and they carted him out and into the locker room. Hopefully nothing to serious, but the fact thet they carted him out, was not a good sign.

He can hit! I think this defense may be better than last year, and hopefully CJ can return quickly to pick up where he left off. I was a little concerned going into Saturday with him but I liked what I saw yesterday both with his coverage and hitting.

He played a great game and hope the injury isn't serious. Does not sound good.

According to the DDN this morning:

He was helped to the sidelines and onto a table, where an ice bag was strapped to his knee. He spent the rest of the game there and afterward OSU officials didn?t make him available to the media.
On the way back to the press box, I all but bumped into him as he was making his way on crutches to see his mom, Yolonda Buskey, who waited just beyond the dressing room.
As for what happened, Barnett shook his head: "All I know is I was going to hit the dude and he went under me and I landed wrong."
His mom said he'll get an MRI today.

BCast just reported on the ozone forum that CJ Barnett's knee injury is an ACL tear and he is likely done for the year.

Really unfortunate if true... i thought he played a great game yesterday. Very aggressive and showed great instincts breaking on the ball.

If Ohrian Johnson is the guy now at least he has recieved a lot of reps with the #1 defense...

Man that stinks. He had a coming out party yesterday.

And yes, good thing that OJ got so many reps during the spring and summer with the 1st team.

Sucks for C.J. He looked really comfortable out there yesterday. Hopefully he can regain full strength and speed in his recovery.

It is defintely a plus that Orhian has gotten a lot of reps with the first team. And O.J. has 4 relatively easy games to get even more acclimated. Wonder if we'll see Christian Bryant slide to back-ups safety of if Domicone sees more time...
