The Buckeyes Men’s Rugby Team remains undefeated in BTU play with a tie and a total of 22 points which places them at 2nd with Wisconsin. TTUN is 4-1 in BTU play with a total of 19 points.

TTUN got the bonus point they needed in last weekend’s victory against Illinois (52-12). This Saturday (Nov. 7th) at 12:00 pm they meet up with the Buckeyes at home.

There are consequences in this match just as there are in another BTU match which pits Wisconsin against Indiana. The victors of these matches could play in the championship match the following weekend in Rockford, Illinois.

The Buckeyes need a victory and at least 4 tries to move onto the Championship game for the second year in a row. IN looks to be heading for Rockford. Wisconsin and Michigan both have hopes and need help – which undoubtedly can happen.

THE BUCKEYES

The Buckeyes Men’s Rugby team is a powerful force in the BTU. Their record is currently 4-0-1 the tie being against Wisconsin. Their overall record is 5-1-1 with their lone loss against Bowling Green. Taylor Hurff a dominating player is 2nd in BTU points overall with 76. JoJo Eramo is 3rd in total points with 60. Taylor is also at 2nd in conversions – 31. JoJo leads all in the league in tries with 17. And listed at 15th in tries is John Walsh with 4.

The Buckeyes have amassed 301 points throughout the season. They are swift, strong, and knowledgeable of the field – capable of capitalizing rapidly.
The Buckeyes are well coached and seldom make mental errors. They are a determined group that is hell-bent on getting back to the Championship match and returning as Champions.

Any team who underestimates the Buckeyes can and will be educated.

TTUN

The Wolverines Men’s Rugby Team is a skilled group too. In overall points in BTU-15’s Andry Rakotovololona is listed at #6 with 48 points. Matt Kasten is at 7th with 46 points. Chening Duker is at 13th with 30. Andry Rakotovololona is also in the league leaders for conversions at 4th with 15. Matt Kasten and Chening Duker also fit in the leaders in tries with 8 and 6 respectively.

TTUN has put up 166 points in play. They too are a smart bunch with an eagerness of bringing a rugby tradition to their school. Their goal, of course, is a victory against the Buckeyes and looking for help to head to Rockford.

OVERALL SUMMATION

The Buckeyes are too good. TTUN has a fine team that can put numbers on the board but against lesser teams. This will not be the case this coming weekend. Taylor Hurff and JoJo Eramo and the Buckeyes have too much of the old style in-your-mouth style rugby to lose this one. They also understand what is at stake. They need no outside help as TTUN does. The Buckeyes hold the cards to their own future. And it looks good.

Look for the Buckeyes to return to the Championship match. This year will be against IN who will certainly be a handful for last years Champions the Wisconsin Badgers.
